			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Unlike the boogeyman, sugar addiction does exist. And it&#8217;s preventing many women from achieving rapid arm toning. Although not easy, you can beat this addiction, however.</p>
<p>What evidence is there that sugar addiction is real? Well, for one, doctors use sugar as a powerful analgesic (painkiller) when performing routine medical procedures on infants. Also, when given high levels of sugar, rodents show the same types of brain alterations that drug addiction induces. Finally, drugs used to combat drug addictions (i.e., naxolone) can eliminate sugar addictions.</p>
<p>So let me ask you the million dollar question, do you think you are addicted to sugar? There are two effective ways for determining this. First, is your emotional state dependent on your sugar intake. Second, are you coming up with complex and detailed reasons as to why you are NOT addicted as you read this paragraph?</p>
<p>The main issue with sugar, is that it prevents your body from secreting arm fat burning hormones. And without said hormones, your arms will never get toned. So without further ado, here are 4 things you can start doing today to kick that addiction out the window:</p>
<p>1. Substitutes. Remember that strange aftertaste you used to get after drinking your favorite diet soda? Well, the good news is that sugar substitutes have changed a lot. And although a substitute won&#8217;t give you an energy high, it will taste just like sugar. My favorite one is stevia, an all natural herb from south America.</p>
<p>2. Loose leaf teas. The king of all loose leaf teas is yerba mate. This is the most powerful appetite suppressant I have ever found. It will kill your sugar cravings on the spot and it will accelerate your arm toning because it&#8217;s also a thermogenic. Don&#8217;t go overboard with this one, it takes about an hour to kick in and can have effect for up to 8 hours.</p>
<p>3. Working out with weights. Weight lifting is the best way to increase your appetite. And increasing your appetite is a great way to eat healthy. The increase is so large that your palate recalibrates to liking foods that you would otherwise find bland. You will no longer need that hyper-taste that sugar gives foods.</p>
<p>4. Emotional healing. You need to address the emotional side of the addiction if you want long term success. The best method I have found for doing this is cognitive therapy. &#8220;Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy&#8221; by David Burns M.D. is your best bet for self-administering this powerful method. Mind you, this is the number one recommended book by therapists.</p>
<p>We enter this world with a sweet tooth for sugar. And live in this world with the food industry trying to push sugar onto us from every angle. Thus, our environment is a breeding ground for sugar addictions. And if arm toning is your goal, sugar is enemy number 1.</p>
<p>One more thing: it&#8217;s vital that you take action on this information sooner rather than later. After all, rapid action ensures the quickest results.</p>

<p>And most people aren&#8217;t lowering their levels of insulin as much as possible.</p>
<p>So here is how to make sure your insulin is low so that you can lose fat and get in shape:</p>
<p>1. Eat vegetables with every meal: This is the simplest yet most effective way to reduce your levels of insulin. You see, vegetables slow down digestion which in turn keeps your levels of blood sugar very low. And low blood sugar translates into low levels of insulin.</p>
<p>2. Don&#8217;t skimp on dietary fat: Dietary fat provides the building blocks for your cell membranes. And healthier cell membranes will require less insulin for nutrient storage. Moreover, dietary fat will also increase your metabolism.</p>
<p>3. Stay away from hidden sources of sugar: Sugar is hidden in many common food items. The reason being is that sugar is very addictive. So by adding sugar to different products you are more likely to keep on purchasing them.</p>
<p>4. Do a lot of resistance training: Resistance training is by far the best type of exercise for normalizing your levels of insulin. You see, when you apply mechanical force to your muscles you increase the concentration of nutrient transporters. And more transporters translates into less insulin.</p>
<p>5. Avoid an overemphasis on eccentric contractions: Eccentric contractions do cause a lot of muscle damage and can theoretically induce more muscle growth. However, the increased muscle damage comes at a cost since you decrease insulin sensitivity.</p>
<p>6. Lose fat: Ironically, the more body fat you lose the less insulin your body needs. You see, as you lose body fat your cells become more sensitive to smaller amounts of insulin. This in turn allows you to process more nutrients with less insulin.</p>
<p>High levels of insulin will prevent you from ever reaching your fitness goals. So make sure you take heed of the aforementioned pointers!</p>

<p>The issue here is that most people do not know how to manage their protein intake effectively.</p>
<p>So here are 6 ways to make your body absorb more protein:</p>
<p>1. Combine your protein with vegetables: Just like carbohydrates, your body works best with slow digesting protein. If you flood your system with protein in one shot, your active tissues will have a hard time absorbing the amino acids.</p>
<p>2. Eat protein with all the amino acids: Now this is primarily a concern if you are getting protein from sources like legumes and grains. Otherwise, you don&#8217;t really have to worry about this one. One more thing to watch out for is saturated fat.</p>
<p>3. Don&#8217;t overdo it: Having too much protein is not better here. If you have too much you will decrease absorption and run the risk of burning through muscle. Even worse, your body will begin to secrete excess calcium.</p>
<p>4. Don&#8217;t leave out other macronutrients: Although this may sound basic, having balanced meals is really the best way to enhance protein absorption in your body. You see, each macronutrient slows down digestion in its own unique way.</p>
<p>5. Eat every couple of hours: This is perhaps the most important element here. You see, the human body does not have a good way of storing extra protein. So if you let more than 3 hours go by between meals, you begin to burn through muscle protein.</p>
<p>6. Have some fast digesting protein immediately after a workout: Now just make sure that you have four times more carbs than protein here. If you have too much protein the absorption of carbs will be hindered. And try to have whey protein here for best results.</p>
<p>More protein going to your active tissues is a great way to not only accelerate recovery and fat loss, but to also increase your quality of life. So take action here sooner rather than later!</p>

<p>1. Eat every three hours. If you&#8217;re still eating 3 square meals a day, you&#8217;re missing out big time. Eating every couple of hours (about 6 meals a day) will provide a higher thermic effect (more calories burned). As an added bonus, insulin (the #1 fat storing hormone) will be kept at an extremely low level.</p>
<p>2. Stay away from long-duration cardio. Go overboard with cardio and your body will secrete cortisol. This dirty hormone will eat away all your precious muscle. I say precious because muscle is the number one thing that will send your metabolism through the roof. Never do more than 45 minutes of cardio at a time for best results.</p>
<p>3. Consider HIT cardiovascular work. HIT (high intensity cardio) is optional and only helpful if you are having a very difficult time shedding off those last layers of arm flab. The key is to go hard and short so that cortisol doesn&#8217;t become an issue. Try to get your heart rate up and keep it there for no more than 20 minutes.</p>
<p>4. Make weightlifting your best friend. You will not develop manly arms because your body does not have enough testosterone to do so. Don&#8217;t forget that weightlifting (increasing muscle mass) is the absolute best way to increase your metabolism.</p>
<p>Practice the above pointers, and your arm toning will reach new heights. The key is to implement this advice now and not later. Because for most women, later never comes. Consider your metabolism to be your new best friend for sexy arm stardom.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, most women juxtapose this hormone with bulging biceps. Now it does help out with muscle growth, but it also increases lipolysis-the incineration of fat cells.</p>
<p>Moreover, men have about 60 times more testosterone than women. So if you are afraid of getting manly arms while trying to get thin arms, stop worrying! It&#8217;s physiologically impossible.</p>
<p>Hence, here is how to increase testosterone so that you can get thin arms:</p>
<p><b>1. Get enough sleep.</b> Sleep does so many important things in the female body, and increasing testosterone production is one of them. And don&#8217;t assume you can get by on just a couple hours, or &#8220;core&#8221; sleep as some researchers call it. You see, the majority of testosterone is produced in the last couple of hours of sleep.</p>
<p><b>2. Eat fat.</b> Study after study has shown that higher fat diets lead to more testosterone production. There is no doubt here. So please do not skimp on the fat if you are really serious about learning how to get thin arms. Just stay away from saturated fat.</p>
<p><b>3. Embrace weights.</b> Learning how to lift weights with intensity is critical when learning how to get thin arms. You see, intense weight lifting with lots of volume maximizes testosterone production. You will also burn a surplus of calories.</p>
<p><b>4. Keep stress to short bursts ONLY.</b> If you let stress overtake you week in and week out, testosterone will plummet. And once this happens, getting thin arms will be very hard. One tool to combat stress is to schedule periods of worry time in your daily routine.</p>

<p>The bedrock of any effective toning program is the ability to raise BMR (basal metabolic rate). The largest percentage of calories burned comes from your BMR.</p>
<p>You might be a little confused, however. After all, every single new product that hits the market claims to be the next best thing for raising BMR.</p>
<p>So here are some real factors that influence your BMR:</p>
<p><b>1. How old you are.</b> One of the first things that happens as you age is muscle loss. And this translates into less calories burned. The best way to prevent this is with resistance training. Now keep in mind that resistance training doesn&#8217;t necessarily have to be done in a gym.</p>
<p><b>2. Lean to fat mass ratio.</b> More muscle translates into more calories burned even while you sleep. Add to this some proper nutrition, and the mitochondria in your cells will burn even more calories.</p>
<p><b>3. A high fever.</b> A strong fever will also raise your BMR. Does this mean you should try to get sick? Absolutely not! But it doesn&#8217;t hurt to know the facts.</p>
<p><b>4. Catabolic hormones.</b> In the short run, stress hormones will cause your BMR to go up. But caution is warranted here because over the long run, said hormones will actually lower your BMR. Why? Because of lean tissue loss.</p>
<p><b>5. Temperature.</b> If you have to adjust to cold temperatures your BMR goes up. If you have to adjust to hot temperatures your BMR also goes up.</p>
<p><b>6. Caloric drops.</b> If you fast or starve, your BMR will drop very fast. Probably a lot faster than you think. In order to reduce the damage from dieting, you should only slightly restrict calories and never skip meals.</p>
<p>Discovering how to optimize your BMR is the best thing you can do to ensure fat loss success. After all, your BMR has the biggest influence on how many calories your burn on a daily basis. So ignore the hype and stick to the proven facts.</p>

<p>Do you constantly check the scale? Are you constantly discouraged by the readings? Well, please understand that even though the scale is going up, you may be making progress.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s usually the case that women are actually losing fat while gaining weight when starting off with a program. Who&#8217;s to blame? Water.</p>
<p>You probably know that water can do this. But do you know how the water is getting into your system? Let me shed some light by providing 5 hidden sources of weight gain:</p>
<p><b>1. Food.</b> If you started exercising a lot, you may be eating more. This is normal. And food has weight. So if you eat a big meal, expect an immediate increase in weight. Now if the food is loaded with sodium, you could easily gain a couple pounds very quickly.</p>
<p><b>2. The hydrate in carbohydrate.</b> Carbohydrates hydrate you because they pull lots of water into your body. How much? Each gram of carbohydrate that goes into your muscle must bring 3 grams of water along with it for the ride. So don&#8217;t be discouraged if you gain a lot of weight after a high carb meal!</p>
<p><b>3. Sodium.</b> You probably already knew this one, but did you appreciate the magnitude of sodium weight gain? Most women grossly underestimate how much water they are actually retaining because of sodium. Too much sodium can make or break an already lean woman&#8217;s appearance.</p>
<p><b>4. Taking a bath.</b> Your skin is a big organ and it can do many things including suck up water. This is one of the main reasons many clueless athletes fail to make their weigh ins. Does this mean you should stop bathing? I&#8217;ll leave that one up to you!</p>
<p><b>5. Lifting heavy stuff.</b> By heavy stuff I mean weights. Weight training teaches your muscles how to hold on to more carbohydrates, and remember that more carbohydrates translate into more water coming in. Does this mean you shouldn&#8217;t weight lift? Absolutely not! In the long run you&#8217;ll be way better off if you do.</p>
<p>I strongly believe it&#8217;s in your best interest to NOT weigh yourself frequently. It will take you for an unnecessary emotional roller coaster ride. And if you feel like water retention is an issue, this article is a great starting point to ditch the excess H20!</p>
